The Story of How Law Students Become Lawyers Law school makes law students. Law practice makes lawyers. Somewhere between the two is a law clerk. As a law clerk, you will continue to learn in the classroom, but it is tempered with real world experience. We put a great deal of effort in training our law clerks to become lawyers. They may become great lawyers and benefit our profession. They may even stay and be a part of our team for years or, possibly, for life. My office recently hired three law clerks. This series will give you a window into their development as law clerks and it will give them a record of their journey. Read and enjoy their trip. You never know, you may want to be a lawyer one day. If you are already a lawyer, you may teach law students to be lawyers. It is my hope that you will find some insight through their words.
